MTSC has compiled a risk assessment for return to shooting, due to Covid 19. Due to requirements of social distancing, the full document can be found here:

There will be major changes as to how we run the club for the foreseeable future, including:

  • Shooters must Pre book time slot for range attendance – NO WALKINs Allowed.
  • The clubhouse will be closed. Signin will be undertaken on the range
  • When you arrive at range please enter the range at your allotted time.
  • Wash/Sanitize your hands using the outside hand washing facilities, observing social distancing
  • Proceed to your assigned shooting position
  • RSOs will hang targets
  • RSO will then operate range, as per standard SOP guidelines
  • Shooter must stay within their designated area at all times whilst shooting
  • RSO only will change targets
  • Shooter may move forward with RSO approval to observe targets
  • Firearms will be cleared on the firing line
  • When allocated time is completed, Shooter will clear firearm, pack and leave
  • On leaving, shooter will wash/sanitize hands and immediately get into car and leave the range

Notes:

  • You must read, and confirm you accept the guidance of the Risk assessment, and have read the MTSC Toolbox talk on Covid 19, before you will be allowed to book range time.
  • All bookings for range time must be completed online the week before shooting
  • No sharing of firearms or equipment allowed on the range
  • Club competition will be suspended for the time being
  • You will be allocated 1 1/2 hrs range time, at which time we will ask you to leave the range, so the RSO can sanitize the area for the next shooter.
  • You will be only able to book one place per weekend, to allow as many members to get to use the range.
  • Couples may use the one designated area, and share firearms

As this is a rapidly evolving situation, this guidance may change at any time, and we will keep you up to date on changes to this process as they emerge.

RSOs will take you through the process. Any failure or refusal to adhere to these requirements and the RSO will ask you to leave the range.
